Route 100 Byways Designation
The MRVPD Work Plan for fiscal year 2007 (March 2006 to February 2007) includes the following :
Mad River Path Association and Mad River Valley Byway - The MRVPD will assist these groups in completion of pedestrian and the bicycle paths along the River and Route 100 from Warren to Moretown
Inter-town Collaboration – Ongoing work is being done through educational seminars for Town officials and coordination of three town efforts on Valley-wide issues
Data and trends – The MRVPD is developing a plan for better utilization of data currently collected to assist Valley residents and businesses in better planning
Affordable/Work Force Housing – the Mad River Housing Study 2006 was recently completed. The MRVPD will be working to implement many of the suggestions in this plan to provide more affordable housing in this Valley
Irasville Planning – a sub-committee of the Waitsfield Planning Commission is working hard on implementing new Zoning for the Valley’s Commercial Center in Irasville, for which a Growth Center Designation application is in process
Energy – The MRVPD is coordinating a variety of Valley groups working on Energy Self—Sufficiency for the Valley – and will be sponsoring an Energy Fair this fall
